Hello Upper School Families!
The PSO is celebrating our amazing Upper School teachers by highlighting a different subject area each month. October 26–30 is Science Teachers Appreciation Week at Northern Oaks Upper School. Express gratitude, share a note, or treat them to something from their Favorites List. Your appreciation means the world to them.

Snowflake Fund: November 11th-20th
The Snowflake Fund is a parent-organized collection that lets us give one meaningful combined cash gift to all of our teachers and staff. Contribute once, and you can officially cross “teacher gifts” off your long holiday to-do and to-buy lists!
The joint gift will be presented to the entire staff at the holiday luncheon just before winter break. Have more questions, read our Snowflake Q&A

All funds will be equally distributed to teachers and staff at the Snowflake Luncheon in December.
If you’d normally spend $10–$15 per teacher on small gifts, simply multiply that amount and make one donation instead.
Let’s show our teachers just how appreciated they are!

Optional But Very Special- Student Notes
If your students love giving a personal touch, they’re welcome to write or decorate a note on our paper snowflakes. We’d love to shower our teachers with a blizzard of heartfelt messages they’ll treasure.

The PSO at GHNO does not fundraise! We are in the business of spoiling our teachers, providing volunteers, and putting on fun events for our families.
Every dollar received from the Used Uniform Store allows us to pay for a storage unit, and to treat our teachers to a coffee truck each month.
When you purchase spirit wear, it goes right back into the Griffin Shop to purchase new inventory.
When you attend Community Building events, ticket sales allow us to set aside funds for the next year!
Any money received after we have covered our costs, goes directly back to the school. So, thank YOU for being part of the PSO!
PSO Calendar
Events for the entire 2026-2027 school year have been published to the public PSO Google Calendar! Separate from the official GHNO calendar, this calendar will have PSO specific events (i.e. events that will need volunteers, PSO meetings, community building and social events, and anything related to PSO).
To sync the GHNO Family Calendar to an iPhone:
Click your Calendar app, click calendars at the bottom, click, add calendar, then click add subscription calendar and paste the following into the box:

To sync the GHNO Family Calender to an Android:
Open a web browser (you can use your phone's browser, but switch it to "Desktop View") and go to Google Calendar.
On the left side of the screen, find the Other calendars section.
Click the + (Plus) icon next to it and select From URL.
Paste https://calendar.google.com/.../ghnocale.../public/basic.ics and click Add calendar.
